Committee for Academic Freedom

The Committee for Academic Freedom (CAF) is a campaigning organisation devoted to raising awareness of threats to academic freedom on a discipline-by-discipline basis.

The broad disciplinary areas that CAF is monitoring are: Arts and Music, Biology and Natural History, Classics and Archaeology, Economics and Business, Education and Social Work, English Literature, Geography and Geology, History, History of Ideas, Law, Languages and Linguistics, Mathematics and Computing, Philosophy, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering, Politics and International Relations, Psychology, Psychiatry and Medicine, Sociology and Anthropology, and Theology.
